Aiden kicked the chair from the doorway on his way out, making sure the door didn't make much noise on it's closing. So this was it. She'd gotten what she wanted, Aiden essentially being useless the whole time. Now what? Time to just split ways and go home, never to see each other again? Aiden yawned, he was cool with that in a way. Just go home and chill with a nice cool glass of drink in his dark, empty, sitting room. Nothing could possibly be better than that, he thought in sarcasm. Perhaps he should add some more lighting to the room, save some money for some lighting that would match the Victorian/Gothic nature of his interior. He took some pride in the home's inside design. He might not have kept the outdoors too impressive, something he planned to work on over some summer, so he liked to keep his home clean in a slightly OCD way.

He let his eyes fall on the papers Mercie held, "So, these papers we went to all this trouble for...They worth it?[/color]" He asked, having no prior knowledge of what they really were, besides the basic fact of them being some sort of information on the unknown race. "Eh, forget about the papers, why and how did you acquire those B 'n' E skills, Mercie? You just continue to suprise me...[/color]"

There, a topic he was actually more interested in. He'd said so much about himself, easy for him to do, and forgotten all about what Mercie might have had to tell about herself. She had skills more important to getting around life if things were to turn sour, more practical skills, than Aiden did, as he was starting to figure out. Maybe the story behind the skills would be just as entertaining. He hoped she would at least give a blunt answer to his question, rather than pass it off. In the club he didn't think she seemed like she really cared much or thought about her past, human self.

The short attention span of the fox led him to forget his question and notice how dark it was. "Hey, if theres unknown creatures out here, you sure it's safe to wander around at night?[/color]" He then quoted a a line from a song he found had some relevance to the situation, saying the words in a sing-song tune, "If you go out into the city at night, it's dangerous! You've made a big mista...[/color]" He let himself trail off, realizing his Kim Chi reference would be most likely lost on Mercie. Only Aiden would find such pointless songs and actually quote them. "Only Aiden..." his friends would often say whenever he had said something none of them understood, but would try their best to play along. At least they were kind enough to at least pretend to care, and do their best to at least try to understand.

[Mercie Banks (Cas)]

Run along, little lamb, towards to immanent doom

Mercie surveyed the dark streets, peering in every shadowy alcove to make sure that no one had seen them. The air was cold, quiet, only coloured with her energy and that of Aiden. She didn’t think that anything was close enough to witness their crime, however, it is possible. Something such as breaking and entering was too easy. Now was the time that they would be attacked. Nothing ever went this smooth.
It seemed like their lucky day, however, since no one broke away from the darkness to attack. The only thing she heard was the were moving out of the building and closing the door. She turned to face him, wondering what was going to happen next. Maybe Mercie would go hunting for her meal. She already ate tonight, but wanted some adventure. This wasn’t enough to satisfy that feeling. Feeding wouldn’t help too much though. Humans were easy to fool, even when she was one.
This were, however, seemed smart enough to wonder about her skills. It was important to know about those around you. She had hoped that he wouldn’t have noticed that she hadn’t said anything about herself. Obviously she messed that up when she opened the locked door. Now she had four choices. She could lie, tell him the truth, part of the truth or nothing at all. If she didn’t tell him anything, he might deduce it by himself. Lying was too easy, no fun. There was no way she was going to tell him the whole truth, so she stuck with the only other option.
“How do you think I learned how to break and enter? I lived in New York City in the 70’s till now. There were just things you needed to know and B and E is one of them.” She didn’t tell him about her gang days, feeling that she might need that surprise later. She liked when people didn’t know much about her. It made it so that she was in command of the situation. She liked to surprise people. She sure surprised Chuck, her old gang leader. Merc smiled at the memory.
While the vamp was lost in her memories, she didn’t notice that Aiden was talking. She knew it wasn’t safe for her to drift off like that, but couldn’t help it. She caught up after she thought about the ending of the question, which she just barely caught. Mercie considered it only briefly before answering him. “No, it is not safe to wander. No one has died yet, however, so I think that I will take my chances. Besides, if you want to leave and go back to your home, then go for it. I’m staying out, though.”
Mercie knew that she had skills that might save her. If this unknown creature was more powerful and clever than her, then they deserve to win, at least she thought that way. It was the way of the street, and she still lived that way. “Are you afraid of death, were-fox? Do you think that the pain will be unbearable? How do you think that they will kill you? Do you think you will go to Hell? Do you think there is a Hell? If this frightens you, then maybe you should lock yourself in you rooms, hide from them, but even if you survive until you are old and decaying, you will still die, still face God, if you believe in him. Hell, you shouldn’t even be around me if you fear your end, I am a predator after all.”
